I was born and raised in Southport Lancashire. I have both Swiss (or German) and Irish blood running through my veins and the rebellious Celtic fraction may be what gives me the internal fire to stand against bullies of any sort, which are regularly mentioned within the revealing pages of my latest book, Dirty Politics.   As a child and younger man I was largely indifferent to what went on in the world. So long as nothing affected me I let things slide by.

Nevertheless, life had other plans for me and as my thirties, drifted into my forties my will became firmly set against various injustices in both the political arena and within ecological concerns. My primary mode of self expression was first, as a painter with brush and canvas, yet later on the written word became my favoured technique of attacking life’s inadequacies. I believe that the power of the written word must not be underestimated! Words are higher thought forms manifested into hard reality; the potential influence they hold on the human psyche is greater than most of us are ever aware!

Back in 2003 I first discovered how filthy politics could become when a well-meant, cross-party, secular anti-hospital cuts campaign brought out the very worst in self-righteous politicians who had lost face and were clearly out for revenge. My family was attacked in the press and on the internet by the politicians who were supposed to be supporting the rights of their constituents and I, along with several other concerned individuals, realised that the world must be alerted to their despicable deeds and misleading propaganda.

The hatred they levelled at any dissenters to their agendas was soon to be directed towards the local countryside when concerns about their eco-destructive development plans surfaced. Before too long the same despots were seeking to enforce the detested 2-week waste collection scheme on residents. They would not listen to legitimate public concerns and steamrollered over anyone who stood in their way. They used every trick in the book to silence their critics yet I exposed them along with other campaigners, such as Doretta Cocks of the Campaign to return weekly collections, at every opportunity. I quickly discovered that other UK boroughs were receiving ‘The Treatment’ by totalitarian authorities that had run out of control, via enforcement of this Government’s massively unpopular bin policy.

Dirty politics was born as a means to highlight the gross hypocrisy and dictatorship festering deep within local authorities towards the UK’s populace. Someone had to write this groundbreaking book and it just so happened that the gods, in their wisdom, granted me with this substantial task!

So far in life I have been deeply involved with many campaigns for the environment, wildlife, minority religious rights, exposure of apathy from authorities like the Ministry of Defence towards unidentified objects and of course more recently the crusade to return our more hygienic weekly waste collections. The bin issue is also set to escalate due to manic proposals to worsen this situation with ‘monthly’ (yes, 4 week) collections next. Watch this space!

My latest claim to fame has been to appear on US TV (the History Channel, UFO Hunters show) and appear in the International press subsequent to me inadvertently photographing something rather bizarre over the skies of Lancashire. This will be the subject of a future book. I am probably happiest when fly fishing on the wild spate stream of Lancashire and Yorkshire by my self. I have a website about this passion and I now have a book out about that particular subject called Fly fishing on wild becks....http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1481250000/

My chief interests (I hate the term ‘hobbies’) include:

Writing about things that affect me and interest me; exposing closet hypocrites in political circles that think they are above reproach; being good to close friends; looking after the family; fly fishing and fly tying; Growing fruit and vegetables; painting pictures, when I get a minute; campaigning about any issues that seem unjust; Ufology (I have created a popular research outlet/website regarding this issue); ancient global mythology and native British Pagan religion (I have written two published books on this subject). Occasional shooting (I hold a Firearms Certificate); weight – lifting, martial arts (I initially trained with the legendary late, great Gary Spiers); combat knife-throwing, metal-detecting in remote areas; seeking to protect the threatened countryside/wildlife from the excess of councils and callous politicians and many other things that I simply cannot recall just now.

I must say that my efforts in various campaigns have brought to me a wide band of good and genuine friends who really care about how society is going. My greatest wish would be to see such caring crusaders in places of influence.
